The police are having calls from all over the area from householders that are receiving call from a Security Company trying to sell alarms systems.  They operate aggressive hard sell tactics on the phone and make appointments to call on householders.  They are make misleading and false claims that they are the only system that police attend.  Please advise all your neighbours especially the vunerable ones just to put down the phone on these callers.  Thank you.

We warn you of a trick being played on Motorists in our area it is well known in other parts of the country. A motorist is flagged down by the occupants of another vehicle who state that they have run out of fuel and need cash. They offer gold jewellry in exchange. Have nothing to do with this. The jewellry is worthless. A silver Mercedes and a red Toyota with males of eastern european appearance were involved in this particular incident.

We have received a report of a caller in Shute Axminster trying to sell Compost Door to Door. The reporting person was rightly suspicious and sent them on their way. It is never a good idea to purchase anything from someone you don't know at your door. Tales like we were doing a job down the road and have a bit of compost, tarmac, concrete etc left over are always a danger sign and should put you on your guard.
Please phone us with any information on 08452 777 444.
