County backs A35 calls

A COUNTY council committee has voted to urge the Highways Agency to reduce traffic speeds through Kilmington.
In a recent letter, addressed to EDDC member for Newbridges ward Ian Chubb, Edward Chorlton, deputy chief executive and director for environment at County Hall, said: "The executive resolved that the Highways and Traffic Orders Committee be urged to consider options for reducing the speed of traffic on the A35 through Kilmington and providing a safe crossing for pedestrians."
Councillor Chubb said: "I will be doing all that I can to keep the pressure on with the rest of the action group.  Please call me if you require any more information."
The A35 Action Group is encouraging people to write letters to the Highways Agency to keep the pressure up.
