EAST Devon has done well again in this year’s Best Kept Village Competition, organised by the Devon Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and sponsored by Mole Valley Farmers.
The success, which reflects the hard work and community spirit within the district’s villages was celebrated at a meeting of East Devon District Council, when cups and certificates were presented to the East Devon winners at Knowle, Sidmouth.
In addition to presenting the Baker and Glanvill Cups, the chairman of EDDC, Councillor Paul Diviani, awarded certificates to runners-up in East Devon.
Congratulations went to Kilmington - winner of the Devon-wide competition in the large village category. Kilmington will be awarded a Best Kept Village Certificate and Shield by the Competition Organisers, CPRE.
