Ringers needed in Kilmington
The bells of Giles’ Church, Kilmington, have been rung intermittently during the past year due to the lack of bell ringers.
But now a serious effort is being made to try and revive the ringing tradition in Kilmington and encourage more people to take it up.
Three novice bellringers have taken up learning the skill at Axminster and an evening practice session held in conjunction with St Peter’s Church Dalwood has been a success.
But with six bells at Kilmington church tower, more ringers are needed. Bell ringing is suitable for all ages and is a great form of exercise.
