Information

Phyllis and Jeffrey Bellworthy celebrated 50 years of married life by renewing their wedding vows in church.
A party was also laid on for the Kilmington couple in the evening of Saturday, May 2nd in Kilmington Village Hall.
Both were born in Exeter in 1939 and they met in their very early teens when Jeff was at Exeter Technical College and Phyllis at Maynard's School.  They were married at the Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant, Exeter, with a reception at the Beach Hill Hotel, Exeter, on May 2nd 50 years ago.

The couple moved to Bath after getting married and on to London for a while before settling in Bristol.

Ottery St Mary became their home in the late 1960s and they subsequently made a short move to West Hill and, finally, Kilmington five years ago.

Both are members of West Hill Indoor Bowls Club and Phyllis is also involved with Kilmington W.I.

Jeff was a very active leader of the Scouts in Ottery St Mary for 30 years and Phyllis was committed to the Guides for several years.  All this despite bringing up six children of their own.  They enjoy gardening and have won several prizes at the local Kilmington Village Show.

Apart from gardening and their other hobbies, they also like to see their 13 grandchildren as often as they can.
