POPPY APPEAL IN KILMINGTON
Thanks to everyone who supported the Poppy Appeal this year which raised £1,190 from the house to house collections, £286 from the static boxes in the Old and New Inns, Kilmington Garage and Cafe, Millers Farm Shop, Hurfords Stores, the Primary School, and the Taunton Cross Little Chef. The collection in a St Giles' Church raised a further £264 bringing the total to £1,740.  We thank the collectors, in particular: Philippa Beckingsale, Bill Barker, Betty Basket, Joan Cudmore, Colin and Coral Dunmow, Ted and Maureen Dutton, Simon and Gill Heighway, Gerry and Pearl Hurford, Jenny Nickolls, Frank and Iris Piper, Janet Robertson and Joan Speller. The Quiz Night in the New Inn on Remembrance Sunday, conducted by Clive Garner and arranged by Brian and Denise Jenkins, raised £109 which was sent directly to the Poppy Appeal. Readers can be assured that every penny raised goes to support needy ex-Service personnel and/or their dependents.
