CHRISTMAS AT ST GILES' CHURCH
By popular request, St Giles' Church will again be kept warm and lit over the Christmas period so that residents, families and visitors can expect a welcoming atmosphere even outside the normal Christmas Services. Please call in at any time between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm to see the decorations and say a prayer at that special time of year. The Church will be decorated with red poinsettias loaned by residents, and they should be left clearly labelled at the back of the Church on 13th or 14th December; the flower arrangers are asked to assemble at 2.00 pm on the afternoon of Saturday 15th December to prepare the greenery so that they can be positioned in time for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Sunday 16th December. A special Memorial Christmas tree will again be placed in the Lady Chapel so that stars recording the names of absent family and friends can be recorded and hung on the tree; stars will be delivered to all houses in the Village and can be left at Hurfords Stores if more convenient. A £1 donation to Church funds would be appreciated. It would be a great help if poinsettias could be collected by their owners on or after Thursday 27th December.
