Shute Woods
I've been a resident of Kilmington for over 25 years, and I was wondering who, if anyone, "Owns Shute Woods", ie Roman road and above. After visiting the area after a brief spell of 3 years I was dumbfounded to find the entire area destroyed, it used to be an area of outsatanding natural beauty, trees in excess of 90 years old, now reduced to a wasteland of open desolate area, fallen trees and in my opinion extremely bad woodland management, I estimate over 20,000 trees have been removed without thought for after the event or for the next 30 years into the future. I would like to express my dismay at those responsible and duly ask them for a reason as to why they would destroy such a tranquil and established area of woodland, it can't be just for the good of the forest, or could it just be for profit ?
