Farewell to Nigel and Annette Feathy
As announced earlier, the Rev’d Nigel Freathy is retiring at the end of March and his last Service as our Vicar, and Vicar to the Five Alive Mission Community which includes Dalwood, Shute/Whitford, Stockland and Yarcombe, will be held in St Giles’ Church at 11.00 am on Sunday 30th March at which he will preach. Nigel will have completed 40 years of service to the Church, first as a Religious Education teacher in Secondary Schools and as a Reader with the Church of England, and then as a Priest. Nigel and his wife Annette have worked tremendously hard on our behalf for the last seven years and many are full of admiration for the way that they have devoted themselves to furthering his Ministry and tendering to our spiritual needs.
Following his last Service, to which everyone is warmly invited, there will be a “Bring and Share” lunch in the Village Hall during which a presentation, to show our appreciation to them, will be made. Those wishing to make a contribution to the presentation should hand their donations to one of the Church Wardens or the Treasurer; alternatively, they can be left in Hurfords Stores addressed to the Church Wardens.
