Village Fayre & Flower Show 2016

We've got a real family show this year, something for everyone. Children have their fancy dress competition; come as whoever you wish, there is no theme. Treats for all and prizes for the best home-made outfits.

The Rattlebox Theatre Company will be telling tales of swashbuckling pirates and their adventures on the high seas. Pony rides, a bouncy castle and many other side games should keep the kids amused all afternoon.

And why not bring along the family dog for some fun too? We'll have some games for them including ‘Chase me Charlie’ jumping, everyone's favourite musical sit. And new this year will be an egg-and-spoon race with your dog. So start practising now!

For the ladies we have a "Dress a Hat" competition. Create your outrageous designs and decorate your hat to impress, but remember you have to wear them!

We haven't forgotten the boys’ toys! There's a tractor to sit on and mini steam engines to see.

You'll not go hungry with a choice of barbecue, cream teas and ice cream. Or for those who prefer a more relaxed afternoon, browse our retail stalls then sit and enjoy some live music with a drink from our bar.

Ladies If you like outrageous hats now’s your chance ……
One of the competitions at our Fayre this year is “Dress a Hat”. Think Mrs Shilling, so basically anything goes. For those of you who don’t  recognise the name, Mrs Shilling would attend Ascot ladies day every year wearing the most outrageous hats, so to get an idea I suggest you google her! You must be able to wear your hat, so bear that in mind!
Just enter on the day. With rosettes and prizes up for grabs, it’s time to get designing!

There will have no set theme this year; feedback from parents last year suggested a theme was too restricting. Therefore this year the kids can become whatever they wish! Prizes (Toys R Us vouchers) will be awarded to the best homemade outfits and treats will be given to all entries.

We will also be running a bottle tombola, so we are looking for donations of bottles of all kinds: wine, cider, beer, soft drinks, etc. All donations will be gratefully received. Please drop them off at Applemead, The Street, Kilmington.
