Kilmington is a village near Axminster in East Devon off the A35. The Parish of Kilmington occupies an area of approximately 1,760 acres upon which there are currently about 400 properties occupied by 800 parishioners.
Kilmington has many attractions - its location, its rural setting, its character and its community. The parish lies within two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Kilmington Parish Council seeks an organised, independent and adaptable person for the role of Parish Clerk.
The job description offers an interesting and varied role, requiring attendance at approximately 10 meetings per annum and occasionally additional meetings, as required.
The role is mainly administration, based on working from home, so it is important to have access to the internet, a lap top and printer will be provided. Confidence in using Word, Excel, Outlook (E-mail) and social media will be essential.
The ability to communicate well, take accurate minutes of meetings, prepare and monitor budgets, manage the Council's finances and assets, are key aspects of the Clerk's role.
Other skills such as writing funding bids, knowledge of the planning system and experience in dealing with the public would be a great advantage, although there will be training courses available to help with any skills gaps for the right applicant.
The post is for 16 hours per month, subject to review. (Salary in accordance with NALC and SLCC recommended rates, currently SCP15 to 18 starting at £9.34)

The village allotments are located off George Lane, also accessable via Newtons Orchard. The present rent for a full plot is £12 per year. We currently have some allotment plots available. Please register your interest with the Parish Clerk.
