Notifications of Road Closures

National Highways are carrying out essential geotechnical works on the A30 at Rawridge Hill, near Honiton.

This will maintain and improve safety for everyone using the road.

Closures

To allow teams to work safely, they will be working under a mixture of lane closures and overnight full closures:

  • To keep everyone on the road safe, the current eastbound lane closure will be in place 24/7 until Friday 17 April. Two-way traffic signals are in place and being staffed during the daytime to keep delays as low as possible.
  • From Monday 16 March until Friday 17 April, the A30 will be closed overnight (Monday – Saturday, 8pm – 6am) between Honiton and the Devonshire Inn A30/A303 junction

Diversions

During the overnight closures, well signed diversions will be in place.

Eastbound Traffic:
- Exit the A30 at Honiton (Honiton A375 / Heathpark junction)
- follow the A35 to Axminster
- then the A358 through Chard
- back to the A303.
Westbound Traffic:
- Follow the same route in reverse.
Local traffic will be diverted via:
- the A30 at Honiton (Honiton A375 / Heathpark junction)
- the A35 via Axminster
- the A358 through Chard
- the old A30
- the A30/A303 junction at Yarcombe (known as the Devonshire Inn)

Access via Stockland Hill to reach the A30 will also be possible.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.  Access will be maintained to properties directly within the closure area.

These arrangements are subject to the usual caveats most notably in relation to the weather. I will let you know if anything changes.

Please remember that closures can change at short notice. You can find live travel information on Traffic England.
